Founded by Wendy Richards in 2004, Working Management is a boutique artist management agency representing some of Australia’s most accomplished performers while nurturing the next generation of exceptional talent across theatre, music, television, film, live performance and commercial partnerships.

Before founding Working Management, Wendy spent 15 years in the international touring industry, beginning her career as an agent in the United Kingdom before returning to Australia to become Director of Tours for Michael Coppel Presents, one of Australia’s leading concert promoters. During this time, she played a key role in delivering the Australian and New Zealand concert tours of many of the world’s leading international recording artists, including Tina Turner, Céline Dion, U2, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, Green Day, Destiny’s Child and Janet Jackson.

Drawing on an international network and more than three decades of industry experience, Working Management has cultivated enduring relationships with producers, presenters, broadcasters, orchestras, festivals, commercial brands and creative organisations throughout Australia and around the world. These relationships continue to create opportunities that enhance the careers, profile and commercial success of the agency’s artists.

Working Management is more than an artist management agency. It actively develops, produces and collaborates on original theatrical productions, concert events and creative projects that create new opportunities for its artists while building meaningful partnerships across the entertainment industry.

In 2015, Wendy co-founded Showwork, an independent theatrical production company whose inaugural production, Heathers: The Musical—the Australian premiere and first professional production outside the United States—became a record-breaking success at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre before touring nationally and returning for a season at the iconic Sydney Opera House. Showwork also partnered with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras to present Rainbow Room, a celebrated season of cabaret, comedy and live performance at the Sydney Opera House.

That same year, Wendy co-founded Working Arts Productions with Executive Producer Bernadette Hayes. Together they created Witches, a symphonic concert event featuring Australia’s four leading stars of Wicked. Premiering with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House in 2016, Witches has become one of Australia’s most successful theatrical concert productions.
