JESSE SIMPSON

A recent graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Jesse Simpson is the true definition of a triple threat.

At the age of 7, Jesse began dance training in the styles of Ballroom, New Vogue and Latin American in his hometown of Geelong, Victoria.  After entering the competition circuit, he achieved great success and established himself as a top national competitor, winning multiple regional, state and national titles.  His dance career highlights include representing Australia at the 2015 and 2017 British Championships; winning two New Zealand Adult Open Latin Championships; and being ranked number one in Australia in 2018.

Jesse studied screen acting at Grace Acting Studios where he attended the advanced actors masterclass program with Australian director Kel Dolan.  He has appeared in small feature and background roles on the sets of many Australian television series including Winners and Losers, Wentworth, Neighbours, Jack Irish and Glitch.

Jesse commenced training at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2019.  Whilst studying he appeared in numerous academy productions including playing the role of Nathan Starkey in Strictly Ballroom: The Musical (Dir: Crispin Taylor); Frank and understudy for Larry in A Chorus Line (Dir: Crispin Taylor); Adult Man in Spring Awakening (Dir: Crispin Taylor); The Baker in Into the Woods (Dir: Nicole Stinton), Bobby understudy and Dance Captain in Crazy for You (Dir: Crispin Taylor) and Victor in Cabaret (Dir: Tamara Cook). 

Jesse prides himself on his professionalism, presentation, work ethic and attention to detail and he is passionate about self-growth and perfecting his craft.
